Oceanside's DĂa de los Muertos festival celebrates its 25th year on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event takes place downtown around Pier View Way and surrounding blocks near City Hall. Family and community altars, traditional entertainment, food and retail booths give residents a chance to celebrate culture while remembering loved ones. Details.
The organizer lists children's activities, a Catrina contest and car-related displays, with a 2026 map and entertainment schedule available on its activities page. Marigolds from Mellano Flowers are highlighted in the altar tradition. Visitors should give memorial displays space and ask before photographing people or personal items closely. Anyone interested in building an altar should act quickly: the listed application deadline is October 22, with no fee to create an altar and equipment supplied by participants. Explore more.
Plan arrival before heading downtown. The festival recommends public transportation because parking is limited; drivers can use 300 North Coast Highway as a reference and should follow all posted restrictions. Be ready to walk several blocks. Contact the organizer with questions about admission or participation costs, and allow separately for food and purchases. This is Oceanside's celebration, distinct from Vista's earlier event. Plan your visit. Read More... |

Vista's Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum will host the final weekend of its October Antique Tractor Show on October 24–25, 2026. Located at 2040 North Santa Fe Avenue, the museum brings working history and traditional craftsmanship together for a family outing that invites curiosity across generations. The first show weekend took place earlier this month. Event details.
Antique tractors and steam and gas engines lead a broader program of demonstrations and activities. The Vista Chamber's description includes parades, blacksmithing, weaving and spinning, sawmill and gristmill operations, farmhouse baking, wagon rides, railroad displays, food and vendors. Confirm the upcoming weekend's schedule rather than assuming every activity operates continuously. The museum also offers separate classes in heritage skills for visitors who want to explore further. Explore more.
Check the museum's official October show page for tickets, current prices and hours before leaving. Confirm admission prices and the day's activity schedule directly before you visit. Comfortable shoes and sun protection make sense on the museum's expansive grounds. Choose a few exhibits your group especially wants to see, allow time for questions, and leave room to discover a craft or machine you have never encountered. It is a local way to connect learning with an enjoyable weekend. Plan your visit. Read More... |
Carlsbad Village will welcome shoppers, families and neighbors for the Carlsbad Village Street Faire on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, with food, merchandise and individual activities purchased separately. The twice-yearly tradition brings hundreds of vendors into downtown for a day of browsing and community connection. Event details.
Expect arts and crafts, antiques, clothing, an international food area, children's rides and entertainment. It is an opportunity to begin holiday shopping, meet sellers in person and spend time in the Village's permanent shops and restaurants. Allow enough time to browse, stop for a conversation and enjoy the entertainment without trying to cover the whole event in a hurry. Explore more.
Plan transportation before heading out. Downtown parking is limited, and the Chamber advertises complimentary shuttles from the Shoppes at Carlsbad and the Poinsettia COASTER station area. Check current pickup and return details with the organizer. Its 2026 update says bike valet is unavailable, despite older instructions remaining on the page. Comfortable shoes, sun protection, a meeting place and a family spending plan can help keep the day relaxed. Save November 1 and invite someone to join you for a local outing. Plan your visit. Copper Kings Burgers is now open at 326 North Horne Street in Oceanside, adding a new full-service restaurant to its North County operation. The opening brings the business back to the city where co-owners Dermot and Jon began preparing ingredients in a shared commissary kitchen in October 2020 before serving burgers at breweries and wineries. Details.
The company emphasizes scratch preparation, including Japanese-style milk buns baked each morning, house-ground beef blends, house-made cheese and sauces, and pastry made in-house. The opening offers diners a chance to explore the menu and learn more about the preparation behind a familiar favorite. The Oceanside location lists an outdoor patio, private dining and a production kitchen alongside its dining service. Explore more.
The current Oceanside menu page advertises lunch and dinner seven days a week and weekday happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Check the latest menu, prices and operating details before visiting, especially if a special or dietary requirement matters to your plans. Contact the restaurant directly about private-event arrangements. Use the Horne Street address for Oceanside rather than the company's established San Marcos location when planning your trip. For local diners, it offers another independent place to gather and a chance to follow an Oceanside-rooted business into its next chapter. Plan your visit. Read More... |

So Cal Antiques and Appliances recently celebrated its grand opening at 6118 Paseo Del Norte in Carlsbad! Co-owners and longtime vintage collectors Mark and Sarah Davies created the space to bring back the nostalgia and charm of traditional community antique markets. Mark notes that Carlsbad’s vibrant blend of coastal style and appreciation for repurposed goods made it the ideal spot to fill the local void for curated vintage decor, classic collectibles, and retro home goods. The shop hosts dozens of local independent vendors under one roof, making every visit a treasure hunt. You can support them daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM or visit their store on Paseo Del Norte to welcome them to the neighborhood.
