Carlsbad's Haunted Corn Maze: North County's After-Dark Guide |
A seasonal scare attraction supports the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation |

Carlsbad Strawberry Company's Haunted Corn Maze gives North County thrill seekers a seasonal night out close to home. The attraction pairs a familiar local farm setting with an after-dark scare experience, and its partnership with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation adds a community connection beyond the Halloween entertainment.
The Foundation's 2026 page lists every Friday and Saturday in October, from 7 to 10 p.m., at 1050 Cannon Road in Carlsbad. Remaining dates after this edition arrives include October 16–17, 23–24 and 30–31. The organizers describe the haunted maze as an experience for teenagers and adults.
Maze admission is listed at $25 per person, in addition to farm admission. The farm lists Friday-through-Sunday general admission at $25, so check both charges when budgeting. Optional upgrades and other activities have their own terms; review current prices rather than treating a headline maze price as the complete outing cost.
Choose the scare level together
A haunted attraction is more enjoyable when everyone has chosen it willingly. Tell your group what the organizer says about the experience and invite questions before anyone buys admission. A friend who likes Halloween decorations may still prefer a daytime farm visit.
Parents should ask the operator directly about suitability, sensory effects and any restrictions that matter to their teenager. An age-oriented description is useful, but it cannot predict every visitor's response to darkness or surprises. Make a plan that allows someone to choose another activity without embarrassment.
The fun should come from the show, not from pressuring a reluctant guest. If your group has mixed preferences, consider separate outings or let the daytime pumpkin patch be the shared activity. There is no need to make everyone enjoy Halloween in the same way.
Keep the farm and the maze distinct
The daytime farm activities and nighttime haunted maze have different schedules and charges. Read the correct event page before heading out. Do not assume a general admission purchase automatically includes every attraction, or that every farm activity continues through the maze's nighttime hours.
Agree on your spending limit and transportation before arriving. For a group of friends, it is useful to decide who is paying for which admission and how everyone will get home. That removes a collection of small decisions from an evening intended to be fun.
A community partnership behind the scares
The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation says proceeds support its environmental education work. Its 2026 page also recruits scare actors ages 16 and older. Anyone interested in volunteering should read the current shift and waiver information and register through the organizer rather than simply arriving in costume.
Visitors can support the experience by following staff directions and respecting the space around performers and props. The same characters need to create a show for many groups throughout the night, and a cooperative audience helps the evening run smoothly.
Check both organizers' pages before departure. Confirm the selected night, prices and practical requirements, then wear shoes suited to walking and keep your group's arrangements simple. With the logistics settled, the maze can provide the surprises while your plan for getting there and home stays comfortably predictable.
Before adding an activity to a shared calendar, send everyone the same organizer link. That helps relatives compare the same information and makes a later change easier to communicate. Decide who will check for updates on the day, then keep the plan flexible enough to fit the people actually coming along.

Cannon Road gets pretty packed on October weekends so just be ready for some traffic. Give yourself extra time getting there especially on the 30th and 31st.
norcounty_mikeGood call. Last year we sat on Cannon for probably 20 minutes just trying to turn in. Going a little earlier in the evening made a big difference when we went back the second time.
Great practical tip, the article does recommend keeping travel arrangements simple, and your reminder to build in extra time for those final Halloween weekend dates is exactly the kind of local knowledge that makes the evening go more smoothly. Thanks for sharing it!
Nice that the Agua Hedionda Foundation is connected to this. I did not realize proceeds go toward their environmental education programs. Makes it feel like more than just a typical Halloween thing.
$50 a person once you add both admissions is a bit steep for a corn maze honestly. Fun for sure but that adds up fast for a family.
My daughter volunteered as a scare actor here a couple years ago and loved every minute of it. Great way for teens to get involved with something local and actually have fun doing it.
Good to know about the double admission charge. I almost got caught off guard by that last year at a different place. Always read the fine print before you show up.
